In Summer 2003, Dave Belton followed his dream of owning his own business. Formerly working in the printing trade for 27 years while residing in the far West suburbs of Chicago, he pursued a vision to acquire a “working property”, a place to live and provide the necessary income for his family – “from home”. It was a huge step of faith, leaving everything that was secure to go to a place he had only driven through, to a people he did not know, to do a type of work he knew little about.
A generous, and welcoming community & many traveling visitors now return again and again, glad to share with others about the enjoyment they experienced at DIGGINS Cafe & Fine Rocks; quality food from a Chicago influenced menu, beautiful view, friendly service, unique rock & mineral gift shop & dazzling Garden Glass.
Kewaunee is the county seat and has a harbor area that might resemble a small East coast community. We encounter many guests who come to enjoy the Great Lake fishing experience and those who are traveling to their Door County destination. There is only one traffic light in the entire county, yet we do offer a little taste of the big city with our full service food delivery.
Dave and Kayla are grateful for the beautiful life they found living in a small town.

They are an e-harmony match, who met and married in the first quarter of 2008.
